Acting with Intention to Achieve Your Goals

Earlier this year, C&A Industries embarked on “The Energy Bus” journey. Written by Jon Gordon, The Energy Bus focuses on 10 Rules to Fuel Your Life, Work, and Team with Positive Energy. On October 16th, C&A employees gathered for the Rollin’ with Positivity Rally that highlighted “The Energy Bus” movement that spread throughout the company over the past year. During the rally we had the pleasure of having Jon Gordon share his inspiration behind “The Energy Bus”. He encouraged each employee to choose one word as a source of inspiration for the upcoming year; one word of intention to drive your actions. It sounds easy, but if taken to heart it takes a certain amount of reflection.

Intentions are based on your own passion and purpose whether driving your professional or personal life. To act with intention is to display this purpose, this passion, your desire in your daily actions. To determine your intention you will need to reflect on your goals. What do you need to do now in order to achieve them? If you truly act in each moment with intention – purpose and desire – you are paving the road to achieve the goals set forth. However, you have to be aware of your actions and consciously question if they reflect your intentions.

Remember that goals are in the future and intentions are in the moment. Be aware of your actions and know your why. What inspires you? What do you want to achieve? Now, what must you do to get there? That’s your intention. Act with intention in the moment to achieve your future goals.

As for me, my word of intention is perseverance. I know that I must persevere as obstacles fall before me in order to reach my end goals. And the obstacles will come. However, I must remember my why and move forward with perseverance.

I ask you, what is your word of intention? I encourage you to reflect upon it and then act on it.

“Our intention creates our reality.” – Wayne Dyer
