Feedback can be difficult. It can be uncomfortable to give and uncomfortable to receive. Growth is uncomfortable, and growth stems from feedback. You are doing yourself a disservice by not receiving feedback, and you are doing others a disservice by not giving feedback. As recruiters, we find the importance and value of feedback every day. Here is feedback companies and candidates can give and receive as well as feedback Aureus Group requests to improve ourselves.
Providing feedback after an interview is not only beneficial but also necessary. Your opinion of a candidate is valuable and matters. Although your feedback may vary greatly from that of another hiring manager from a different company, it’s still valuable for the candidate to piece together the information they have been given. Candidates can utilize that information to know what to work on and how to improve for the next interview or their future job search. A benefit to working with a recruiter from Aureus Group is that we will provide that feedback to the candidate for you.
Feedback after an interview is necessary for us to receive as your recruiter because what is most important to us is finding you the right candidate. You learn a lot about people, including yourself, in interviews. It’s possible you learned something you do or do not want in an employee during an interview. We need to hear those things so that we can re-evaluate our search for you. As an employer to candidates, it’s also important for us to know how they are presenting themselves so that we can coach them. What you liked about a candidate, what you didn’t like, their appearance, their communication style, how they answered your questions-those are examples of feedback we like to hear from a hiring manager after an interview.
Your feedback matters, too. After your interview, we like to discuss how the interview went. What you learned about the job and the company. What you liked and didn’t like. Knowing this information helps us understand what kind of positions and companies are going to be the best fit for you. Sometimes your initial desires change after an interview. We learn a lot from hiring managers when we talk about the job and what they’re looking for, but sometimes you learn more or something that is very different than the original plan. If there is negative information you have found about a company, we like to know about that, too. We share that with the hiring managers to get more information and see if they are working on those issues. It is important to remember that not all information is true. When you receive feedback from hiring managers, it’s ok to ask more questions of your recruiter or of friends and family who know you. What one person likes another may not. You can piece together feedback received to come up with the best growth solution for you.
Providing the best service and experience to both companies and candidates is our highest priority. Hiring managers, you receive two evaluations to complete after you make a placement with Aureus Group. One is about your experience with the recruiter you were working with, and the other is about the candidate you hired. We review this information every month, quarter, and year. It truly is a tool we use for coaching and training. Feedback matters to us, so please tell us how we can do better. We are continuously reviewing our processes and procedures in recruiting and learning about your experience with us. How the candidate does or doesn’t match the job helps us grow to support you better next time. Two times a year, candidates who we have placed will receive an evaluation to complete requesting the same information. We cannot get better if we don’t know how to change, and we need you for that.
