C&A Industries, Inc., a national leader in staffing and recruitment, has announced its 50th year in business. Founded in 1969 by Larry
Courtnage, C&A began as a one employee endeavor placing engineers with Omaha area employers following his graduation from the University
of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Engineering. C&A has since evolved into one of the largest staffing firms in the country with multiple
brands in its portfolio.
C&A is comprised of specialized firms that provide workforce solutions to organizations throughout the United States. Firms under the
C&A umbrella include Aureus Medical Group®, Aureus Group®, AurStaff®, Celebrity Staff, and FocusOne Solutions®, in addition to non-staffing
affiliates AurTravel® and AurHomes®.
Today, C&A employs nearly 700 corporate employees primarily located across the company’s three office locations in Omaha, including its
headquarters at 136th & Dodge, which opened in 2007. In addition, C&A employs thousands of contract employees across the United States.
Regional offices include Lincoln, Nebraska; Kansas City, Missouri; and Des Moines, Iowa.
Currently, C&A ranks as the 27th largest staffing firm in the country and 84th largest globally. C&A’s largest affiliate, Aureus Medical
Group, ranks as the 7th largest healthcare staffing firm nationally, including 7th in the nursing sector and 2nd in allied health. Aureus
Medical entered the healthcare staffing market in 1984 with direct hire placement. In 1997 the firm expanded into contract healthcare
staffing, commencing a period of rapid and expansive growth.
Over the past 25 years, C&A has been honored with numerous awards and recognition for growth, employee engagement, employee education,
and wellness. A 2019 recipient of the Sustained Excellence Award, C&A has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Omahaâ„¢ in the large
company category eight times in ten years. Recently, C&A was named by Training magazine as a recipient of the Training Top 125 Award,
recognizing organizations with the most successful employer-sponsored learning and development programs in the world. It has earned
Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces℠ in North America, the Gold Well Workplace Award from WELLCOM, and consistent recognition for growth,

C&A’s presence extends beyond the staffing industry. In 2001, Courtnage launched The Kim Foundation, a non-profit, family foundation
dedicated to improving the lives of those impacted by mental illness and suicide through advocacy, education, and support. Its community
programming, partnerships, and funding initiatives have made a substantial impact locally, statewide, and at the national level.
C&A remains a privately held company, owned by Courtnage and his wife, Kathy. In 2018, Courtnage was named to the Omaha Business Hall
of Fame by the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce. Scot Thompson, who joined the company in 2000, serves as President & CEO. Thompson has
been named by Staffing Industry Analysts to the Staffing 100 for four consecutive years.
