Most industries are looking for IT professionals to help their companies; there are several ways that these in-demand professionals can land the best jobs in these companies. Businesses have invested considerable time and dollars in building cultures within their IT operations in an effort to attract, recruit and retain top talent, said Bruce Peterson, regional manager, systems division of Aureus Group an affiliate of C&A Industries. “They are very protective of these cultures and will look or individuals who have the values and working behaviors that align with their culture,” he said. “Therefore, attributes such as being a strong team player comfortable with collaboration and above average communication skills are now held up as the must-have skills even over technical skills.” Peterson said when candidate work with a recruiting and staffing firm such as Aureus, they have a distinct advantage. “When we secure an interview for you with one of our clients, we help you prepare for the interview,” he said. “When you’re prepared you will feel more comfortable and confident, which will increase your chances of success.” Once you get an interview, make sure to dress professionally. “Even in this day and age where casual dress or business casual dress codes are the norm, it’s still important to dress for success for the interview,” Peterson said.
